04 09 14_1309_edited-1We are excited to launch our new Tuesday Night series of classes called “Kitchen Essentials”.  During these two hour classes we will cover a variety of topics that are relevant to everyday cooks.  From start to finish we will learn the steps to make favorite dishes that will help expand your culinary repertoire.  Basic and advanced applications will be discussed and, of course, we’ll enjoy eating what we make afterward. So, whether you are a beginner or advanced please join us at Kitchenable on Tuesday nights at 6:00pm to perfect a few favorite recipes and techniques.  Class fee $35

April 28th- Slow Cooker for Survival- learn to use that Crock Pot you have tucked in your pantry to make your life a whole lot easier.  We will be making a healthy breakfast/dessert, Shrimp and Grits, and a few amazing vegetables using your slow cooker in ways you never imagined!

May 6- How to Roast Anything- Once you learn how to roast you’ll be amazed at the incredible rich flavor your meats and vegetables gain from this simple technique.  We will start our meal with a Roasted Tomato Salad, Roast Mixed Potatoes, Roast Green Beans, and Balsamic Roast Turkey Breast.  We will even top off the meal with roast fruit for dessert.

May 13- Baking Basics Cream Puffs, Banana Bread, and Chocolate Chip cookies are dishes everyone seems to have but do you have a truly delicious, truly delicious recipe you can count on?  Are your results inconsistent when you bake?  Join us a the cooking cottage for this class and we will discuss the essential guidelines for basic baking success with quick breads and cookies.

May 20-Casseroles (That Actually Taste Good!)- We will explore one dish dinners that include: Goulash, Mac N’Cheese, and Shepherd’s Pie.  These hearty comfort foods will be perfect when you need to take a covered dish or just want a one dish meal at home.

May 27- Sauces!  This is the first of three classes that will cover the “Mother Sauces”- we will start with exploring basic Roux, Béchamel, and Veloute- after making the sauces we’ll enjoy them with steamed fresh vegetables, pasta, and baked chicken.
