It is the height of blueberry season in Tallahassee, if you’ve wondered how to enjoy these delicious, sweet, berries throughout the year you can join us at KitchenAble Cooking School to learn the basics of canning and preserving. Heidi Copeland, our local extension agent, will teach the basics of making your own preserves and we will do so with fresh, local, blueberries. Additionally our chef will share her favorite recipe for a Blueberry-Balsamic Vinaigrette (using the preserves we make), a delicious salad that features this dressing with chevre and local honey, and some good, old-fashioned biscuits topped with our preserves for an indulgent dessert. Water, coffee, and a generous tasting of all dishes prepared will be provided and participants will also get a jar of preserves to take home and enjoy after the class (and a recipe handout). Cost of class is $30 per person.
