L3X-Farm Fresh Local Flavor Cooking Class- Sept 5, 5:30-8:30

Description

We are honored to participate again in the annual Life Long Learning eXtravaganza with the Tallahassee Senior Center.  Anyone is welcome to participate in this community event. Tallahassee and the Red Hills offer a trove of delicious fresh ingredients.  Learn more about our farmers markets and what they offer as we enjoy seasonal, fresh, local flavor at this cooking class.  Our meal will begin with locally ground cornmeal, prepared as delicious skillet cornbread- served with cane syrup and butter.  Other dishes our our menu include Classic southern coleslaw, Shrimp Gumbo made with wild-caught gulf shrimp, local sausage, and vegetables, and a delicious, fresh cobbler made with seasonal fruit.  A full meal of these dishes will be served and participants will receive written copies of the recipes as well as pointers on where to source local, fresh ingredients.

Doors open at 5:30pm RESERVATIONS FOR THIS EVENT ABSOLUTELY MUST BE BOOKED THROUGH THE SENIOR CENTER’S L3X PROGRAM (850)891-4000. Seating is limited. Please book your reservation in advance.  Click this link for program details.

Menu is subject to change based on market availability of ingredients and all classes have a minimum and maximum participation number.  We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule if minimum reservation requirements are not met.
