At KitchenAble we love the Red Hills Online Market for the networking and convenience they bring to fresh LOCAL FLAVOR. During this Friday night cooking class, we will start with a beautiful basket of fresh ingredients purchased at the Red Hills Online Market. Chef Jessica, (who happens to be a farmer’s daughter) will talk and cook through all of the fresh ingredients. You will leave with a full stomach and a better understanding of our local agriculture, what is seasonal now, how to navigate local markets or shop from a CSA. The meal for this class will be determined by the “cream of the crop” at the moment and will include an ample tasting of many wonderful, seasonal “Market Inspired” dishes. The menu for this class will be predominately plant based (and gluten free) and will feature local fruit, vegetables, nuts, cheese, and honey. BYOB
All recipes subject to change depending on availability but will probably include: Tossed salad with local greens and fig vinaigrette dressing (with dried Monticello figs, local pecans, and a tasting of cheeses from Sweet Grass Dairy), Bumpy Road Smoked Grits, Sautéed fresh greens, Roasted Carrots, fresh pesto, Local Mushroom Ragout, and a Citrus Cake (made with almond flour).
